Protection of multimedia works by Intellectual Property

The Spanish Intellectual Property legislation does not mention explicitly the multimedia in the types of copyrightable works. The reason is that they are complex works that are created by a combination of works in different formats (text, images, music, videos, software, etc.). That does not mean that they cannot be protected by copyright, as long as the resulting works present sufficient originality.
Multimedia works are protected from the moment of its creation, although its registration in the Register of Intellectual Property is recommended, as it is a qualified proof of the existence of the registered copyright.
Volart Pons offers expert advice on avenues of protection of this type of works and its different forms of exploitation.
